Easy Move Bins: Community Recommendation Highlight

"Moving companies love our bins because they are easy to move and stack, which saves a lot of time loading the trucks! [...] Our bins aren’t just perfect for moving, they’re also convenient for organizing and remodeling projects, helping you get items out of the way! Imagine tackling a project without having to tape together cardboard boxes…so much easier." -Erin Bates, Owner & Chief Bin Officer, Easy Move Bins, LLC
Easy Move Bins logo. Easy and Bins are dark blue, Move is light blue, and there's a dark blue narrow arrow underlining the words, pointing to the right. Rent, Pack, and Stack are cut out in the arrow.

As a home organizer with an eye on sustainability, I was excited to learn about Easy Move Bins, making your next move or remodeling project run smoother, with reusable bins for rent. No more sourcing or buying cardboard boxes and tape, and dealing with breaking them down and overflowing recycling. And no more uneven stacking or worrying about fragile boxes crushing each other. And with free delivery to a 30-mile radius around Central Ohio, this is one resource you'll want to tell your neighbors about! (Additional service areas are considered with a delivery fee.)

"I came across a similar business in Canada and after researching them, was genuinely shocked to learn how much cardboard still ends up in landfills. Like many people, I assumed that if something was recyclable, it was actually being recycled. Sadly, I hadn’t given much thought to what really happens to cardboard boxes when we are done with them. Specifically ALL of the delivery boxes we receive. Because I was already familiar with the rental business model and its flexibility, this concept immediately stood out as the perfect fit for my family and a way to make an impact on the world." -Erin Bates, Owner & Chief Bin Officer, Easy Move Bins, LLC

Erin Bates, Owner and Chief Bin Officer of Easy Move Bins, LLC, grew up in New Albany, graduated from The Ohio State University, and planted roots in Westerville after she "bounced around a few local suburbs. I'm married to Tim, and we stay busy raising our 12-year-old son and our 15-year-old daughter. In my free time, I love cheering on my kids at their sports games and playing board games with my family and friends. Summers are all about bike rides, paddle boarding and kayaking. And when it’s time to relax, I enjoy catching up on my favorite TV shows." After Bates sold her previous business a few years ago, in 2024, "I knew I wanted to build something local again," and Easy Move Bins was born.

"This business grew from the love of small business ownership, the flexibility to work around being a substitute teacher in my kids’ schools, and a desire to show my kids what hard work looks like. Most importantly, I wanted them to see that careers don’t have to fit a traditional  mold, you can think outside of the box (bin), create your own path and be your own boss."

Our process is quick and simple! You can contact us via email, phone call, text, website, Facebook or Instagram message - or even flag us down if you see us driving around. We understand this can feel tricky, but don’t worry, dates and quantities can be adjusted as needed. It’s not unusual for us to receive a text like  “Hey, this is taking a bit longer than expected. Easy Move Bins' Top Five Surprising Facts:

Easy Move Bins stacked on top of a hand dolly.
  1. Cardboard boxes are not cheap. As more people buy items online, the demand for cardboard boxes rises, driving up costs. That increase is reflected in higher prices at the store.

  2. Even though a lot of cardboard is recycled in the U.S., more than half of it is still ending up in landfills. Hundreds of thousands of tons of cardboard ends up in landfills in Central Ohio every year.

  3. Professional organizing companies are quite popular. It’s a 156 billion dollar industry. And they like using bins.

  4. By far, the most popular way people place orders is with a simple text message.

  5. Not having to worry about getting a cardboard papercut? Priceless.

Moving Checklist

Want to take some of the stress out of moving? Start the decluttering and downsizing process as soon as you're thinking of moving, even if it's years in advance. A longer timeline allows for a more thorough decluttering, and creates a buffer for when life gets in the way and puts you off track of a tighter deadline.

Why declutter and organize before moving?

  • Saves you money on boxes and moving supplies

  • Saves space on the moving truck.

  • Ensures you won’t need to waste money on a storage unit.

  • Lessens the stress of unpacking with organized boxes and less overall to unpack.

  • Makes space planning easier in the new home with only the things you need and love in it.

“Perfectionism is something that can hinder the home organization process as well - many people who organize their own homes are familiar with feeling stuck during the organization process, concerned about getting everything just right. Sometimes that makes people freeze, unable to make a decision, and the task is left half done. Remembering that home organization is a recurring and ongoing process helps relieve that pressure, while a home organizer is able to guide you through the questions to ask yourself while making these decisions now and in the future, lending their knowledge over hundreds of hours of work in similar homes." -Tabi Berkey,
